Resident Artist Kathleen Buzzacott is of Pitjantjatjara, Western Arrernte, Scottish and English descent, and lives with her family in Central Australia. Using traditional Central Desert Dot Painting, Kathleen shares Dreamtime stories and her own meaningful memories on canvas. The Kathleen Buzzacott Art Studio was established west of Alice Springs in 2014 and is the birthplace of many meaningful works of art, including the designs you see at Koh Living!
From stories of the land to the perfect gift
Kathleen’s work, steeped in traditional practice and drawn from stories of the land, lends itself perfectly to meaningful giftware. From the deep, rich blues and purples of the great Finke River to the burnt reds of Kangaroos at Sunset, Kathleen’s art is a celebration of her happy Central Desert life. Her designs can be found on an array of beautifully-made Koh Living gifts and homewares that will be appreciated and used for years to come.
Giving back to our artists
Kathleen says “Aboriginal Art is one of the best sources of economic development for Aboriginal people living in communities and it is a movement that keeps on growing”. As members of the Indigenous Art Code, we practice ethical trading and promote ethically buying Aboriginal art to help artists and communities from the world’s oldest living culture.
