Hi I'm Anna Blatman and I'm in the middle of painting a bird for the Koh Living Anna Blatman competition winner.
The inspiration for this bird is from all the lovely colours I have mixed up as part of my painting work for the studio, and I love that it is being built day by day from all the other pieces. Here is a glimpse of the work in progress:
I have chosen a bird as I think they are gorgeous and I love to play God and make up my own fun species!
I hope the winner will have a perfect place to hang it and I hope it would look great anywhere in the house - whether it's in the kitchen, bedroom, laundry or loo! I would love the winner to be a person who loves colour for obvious reasons!
I've had many fabulous reactions to people receiving my paintings as gifts. One group of daughters bought their mother one of my paintings after realising she didn't need another piece of jewellery. After they gave it to her she refused to go to her birthday dinner so she could sit all night and stare at the painting - I've always remembered that story!
My golden tip to all budding artists is it stay true to yourself and keep your vibe pure!
